UGC creators make videos for brands to post or run as ads. They don't post to their own audience, so you aren't paying for reach. You're paying for a video that looks native to TikTok or Reels, plus the right to use it. That makes UGC pricing simpler than influencer pricing, and cheaper. For how it compares with paying creators to post, see the full breakdown of influencer marketing cost.
Rates move monthly and vary by niche. Every number below is from a named, dated source.
How much do UGC creators charge per video?
Three current sources, three angles: a UGC platform's rate guide, a marketplace's deal data and a brand survey.
| Source | What it measured | Figure |
|---|---|---|
| Billo, June 2026 | Entry-level creator, simple vertical video | $50 to $100 per video |
| Billo, June 2026 | Mid-level, stronger production or niche skill | $150 to $500 per video |
| Billo, June 2026 | Established, proven scripting and editing | $500+ before licensing |
| Collabstr 2026 report | Average a brand actually paid per UGC collab | $154 |
| IMH Benchmark Report 2026 | Brand-reported UGC cost per creator | About 80% under $500, the rest mostly $500 to $2,000 |
Sources: Billo's UGC rates guide (June 2026), Collabstr's 2026 Influencer Marketing Report (21,000+ collaborations) and Influencer Marketing Hub's Benchmark Report 2026 (600+ respondents).
The direction is down. Collabstr's 2025 report found the average UGC asking price fell about 44% year on year, to $198. New creators keep arriving and compete on price. At the same time, the 2026 report found UGC campaigns on Collabstr grew 133% while TikTok-specific campaigns fell 48%. More brands want UGC, and there are more creators to supply it.
What makes a UGC video cost more?
The base rate buys one short video for organic use. Nearly everything a brand actually wants costs extra.
| Add-on | What it is | Price effect |
|---|---|---|
| Paid usage license | Running the video as an ad | Licensing and paid activation can double or triple cost (Billo, 2026) |
| Time-boxed license | 30, 60 or 90 days of ad use | Cheaper than a full buyout (Billo, 2026) |
| Whitelisting | Ads run from the creator's handle | Premium fee on top (Billo, 2026) |
| Hooks and cuts | Extra opening lines or lengths to test | Usually priced per variation |
| Raw footage | Unedited clips for your editor | Usually a flat add-on |
| Rush or extra revisions | Faster turnaround, more rounds | Adds to base (Billo, 2026) |
Health, finance and other regulated categories also cost more, because scripts need claims checked and reshoots are more common.
The cheapest way to buy UGC is to know your ad plan before you brief. If you'll test five hooks on one video for 60 days, say so up front and get one price. Adding rights after delivery is how a $150 video becomes a $500 one.
What should a brand budget for UGC?
Worked examples using the sourced ranges above. Not quotes.
| Goal | What to buy | Rough base cost |
|---|---|---|
| First ad test | 5 creators x 1 video, mid-level at $150 to $300 | $750 to $1,500, plus licensing |
| Hook testing | 3 creators x 1 video x 3 hooks | Base videos plus per-hook fees |
| Always-on ads | 8 to 10 new videos a month | $1,200 to $3,000 a month base at $150 to $300 each |
Our view: buy volume before polish. Ad platforms reward fresh creative, and a $150 video that tests a new angle often teaches you more than a $1,000 one that looks nicer. Spend more on the creators whose first video works.
UGC needs a tight brief more than influencer posts do, since the creator has no audience to lean on. Product, the problem it solves, two or three angles to try, what not to say, the format and the rights you need. A UGC content agency or a UGC platform can source creators at volume. If you want creators who can make the video and also post it to an audience that matches your buyer, send us a brief with your product, budget, a competitor and your niche. We shortlist by hand.
How much do UGC creators make a month?
This section is for creators. There's no reliable public data on what UGC creators earn per year. Anyone quoting a typical salary is guessing. What you can do is the math on your own rate and volume.
| Rate per video | Videos a month | Monthly gross |
|---|---|---|
| $75 | 8 | $600 |
| $150 | 12 | $1,800 |
| $300 | 15 | $4,500 |
Before platform fees, product costs and taxes. Volume is the hard part: most creators don't have steady repeat clients at first.
How creators move up the rate ladder:
- Price rights separately. Base video, then 30, 60 or 90 day ad license. Brands expect it, and it's where the money is.
- Show results, not just videos. A screenshot of an ad's hook rate or cost per purchase justifies a higher fee better than a pretty portfolio.
- Offer hooks as an add-on. Three openings on one video is cheap for you to film and valuable for a brand testing ads.
- Specialise. A niche, like skincare, supplements or apps, lets you charge for knowing what claims and angles work.
- Get repeat clients. One brand ordering four videos a month beats chasing four new brands.

FAQ
Most charge $50 to $500. Billo's 2026 guide puts entry-level creators at $50 to $100 a video, mid-level at $150 to $500 and established creators at $500 and up. Collabstr's 2026 report found brands paid an average of $154 per UGC collaboration on its marketplace. Rates move monthly and vary by niche.
No. A UGC creator makes the video and hands it to the brand, which posts it or runs it as an ad. Billo's 2026 guide notes follower count only affects pricing when the creator also posts the content. Brands are paying for the video and the rights, not the audience.
More supply. Collabstr's 2025 report found the average UGC asking price on its marketplace fell about 44% year on year to $198. Supply grew faster than demand. Its 2026 report found UGC campaigns grew 133%, so demand is rising too. Brands paid an average of $154 per UGC deal there in the 2026 data.
Plan on roughly $150 to $300 for the base video from a mid-level creator, using Billo's and Collabstr's 2026 figures, then add licensing. Billo says rights, whitelisting and paid activation can double or triple the cost. A 30, 60 or 90 day license is usually cheaper than a full buyout.
