TikTok Creator Marketplace requirements (creators and brands)

TikTok Creator Marketplace requirements as of October 2026: creator eligibility in TikTok One (18+, region, 1,000 followers for projects) and what brands need.

The marketplace moved into TikTok One in 2025, and the rules moved with it. Many guides still quote the old ones, which is why so many creators think they need 10,000 followers. This page lists the current requirements on both sides, with TikTok's own pages linked. For how the marketplace works overall, start with our TikTok Creator Marketplace guide.

TikTok changes these rules often. Check the linked help pages before you plan around any number.

What are the TikTok Creator Marketplace requirements for creators?

TikTok's sign-up page for TikTok One (updated July 2026) lists three requirements to join:

RequirementWhat it means
RegionTikTok One has launched in your country or region
Age18 or older
RulesYou follow the Community Guidelines and the Branded Content Policy
For projectsAt least 1,000 followers, plus any requirements the project sets

The last row is the one that trips people up. You can sign up without 1,000 followers, but you won't be able to take part in projects until you pass that mark. Individual brands can set higher bars on their own projects, such as a minimum follower count, a country or a niche.

Is it still 10,000 followers?

No, not as a sign-up rule. The 10,000-follower figure you'll see in older articles comes from the original Creator Marketplace, before TikTok folded it into TikTok One on April 1, 2025 (TechCrunch, 2025). Some posts also quote view minimums. Those are project-level rules at best.

How do creators join TikTok Creator Marketplace?

TikTok lists several ways in:

  • In the app: Profile, then TikTok Studio, then Creator Marketplace.
  • Search: type "TikTok One" in the TikTok search bar.
  • A direct link or QR code from TikTok's help page.
  • An invitation link from a brand or agency.

Once you're in, fill out the profile: starting rates, contact information, languages and industries. Brands filter on those fields, so a blank profile is close to invisible.

What helps creators get picked once they qualify

Meeting the requirements gets you in the door. It doesn't get you booked. What brands look at:

  • Recent views, more than followers.
  • A clear niche. "Skincare for oily skin" beats "lifestyle".
  • Past sponsored posts that look like your normal posts. Brands want creators whose ads don't feel like ads.
  • Clean disclosure. Use TikTok's content disclosure setting on paid posts.

What do brands need to use TikTok Creator Marketplace?

The brand side is simpler:

  • A TikTok for Business account, which your TikTok One brand profile ties to.
  • A brand profile in TikTok One, with your company details.
  • A project for each campaign: product, deliverables, dates, budget and rules.
  • Content that fits the rules. Paid posts must follow TikTok's Branded Content Policy, which restricts some product categories.

Two limits to know. First, TikTok says brands can only view and search creator information within their current region. If you sell in the US and the UK, that's two separate searches. Second, you only see creators who opted in. Plenty of good creators run deals over email and never joined.

TikTok doesn't publish a brand access fee for TikTok One. Your costs are creator fees and any ad spend.

What requirements should brands set on their own projects?

TikTok's minimums are low on purpose. Your project rules do the real filtering. What we'd set:

  • Country. The country you ship to, so views turn into possible buyers.
  • A follower band, not just a minimum. A 15K creator and a 900K creator are different buys.
  • Category. Creators who already post about your kind of product.
  • Screening questions. Ask for median views on their last 10 posts and one past brand result. Creators who answer properly have done this before.
  • Hard rules, once. Claims they can't make, competitors they can't have posted for, and the disclosure label.

Tight rules mean fewer applicants, and better ones.

How brands can work around the marketplace's limits

Because TikTok One only shows opted-in creators in one region, most brands use a second search. You can search TikTok and Instagram creators by niche, country and followers, 200 rows free with no signup, then send the ones you like an invite link so the deal still runs through TikTok One.

Whichever way you find them, check each creator before you pay. Our guide on how to vet a TikTok creator covers views, comments and fake followers. And if you're weighing doing it yourself against hiring help, see TikTok Creator Marketplace vs an agency.

TikTok Shop affiliate requirements are different

TikTok Shop's affiliate program is a separate system with its own rules for creators and sellers. Meeting the TikTok One requirements doesn't qualify you for TikTok Shop affiliate, and the reverse is true too. See TikTok Shop affiliate requirements for the creator and seller side, and the TikTok Shop affiliate program for brands for how commission deals work.
